Rival Schools comic!!

Hopefully, this evening I'll have my 2 issues of Rival Schools #1. The damn thing was supposed to be released last week, but mexican importers are slow.

So... judging from the "previews" in Street Fighter II #0, #1 and #2:

+The story looks promising. Very similar to the original.
+Characters kept their personality.
+Good to see Kyosuke will have a very important role (lol main team).
+Lots of characters look good with Rey's style.

-Sakura... the hell? I know she was a guest character in RS, but her role should be minor.
-Natsu and Hinata look like crap.


I'll try to scan both #1 issues when I get them and upload them ASAP somewhere.


BTW, if someone is interested, Udon will re-release that special "summer vacation" issue, so go and check your comic store :x

wait nevermind the rush dreamweaver lost the rights to make the comic and UDON the same people who made the streetfighter comics is going to be making the comic.

I don't know about this I smell dishouner in capcom again.

Second thing. The Previews. Were they just a few pages that will appear in issue 1, or do I need to track down SF2 issues 1 and 2?

Not sure, I'm guessing those previews won't appear in the comic, they talk about the events that happened way before Batsu joined Taiyo Gakuen crew. In fact, in the preview from SFII#2 you see Batsu arriving to the city.

I think I saw the preview of this. Didn't it start off a bit like a wet dream that Sakura was having, where you see Ryu and Ken framed in the doorway, standing side-by-side in a slightly unusual pose, dressed in their full Karate Gis and enticing Sakura to come spar with them?
Or at least, that's how it seemed to me.

We get the same deal, which I suppose is still better than not being able to buy them at all. Last week I saw the foil-cover version of SF2 issue 2 on sale for £9 ($16) I ran away.

Also, the RS previews inside the SF comics have all but completely killed any interest I had in reading this. I suppose it doesn't help that I've never really been a fan, seeing the series as Just Another Fighting Game, fun for a few days and then back to SF/KOF.

I wonder what Snowstorm thinks of it?

-Shoma is in the hospital with his brother, promising to avenge him.
-Sakura is investigating Justice Gakuen, when Hinata and Natsu appear and ask her what the hell she's doing.
-Daigo is talking to Edge and Gan. He says that all the other schools are weak and they'll protect the city with their fists.

She hates it because the Street Fighter comic didn't make Sakura powerful enough and portrayed her wrongly and she feels Udon will do the same with the RS comic.

It must be hard being such a devout fan like her. Anything they make will just disappoint her. Her vision for those characters is just so clear! If only they could tap her mind and tailor it to her exact specifications, then we'd see Rival Schools overtake even SF's glory days.
