The ratio system no doubt made the strikers god in that game. The smaller the meter the easier build, there was no point in picking anything other 1 main 3 striker. most basic combos were able to fill well over half a bar and maxed out meter allowed characters to cancel striker > striker > striker > super > super. Seriously, for those that didn't like KoF00 for strikers and super cancel combos should by all hate KoF01.
As a self proclaimed Kyo whore I must say I like 2001 Kyo almost as much as 97/98 Kyo for the simple reason that I can combo an SDM Orochinagi into a DM Orochinagi or infinite juggle with Aragami.
Edit: It also probably had the best version of Yuri...and Foxy owns Duolon in the "zOMG brOkeN" category.
Actually 2/2 or 3/1 is the best ratio. 1/3 looses easily especially to boxers style fighting which any KoF player knows is one of the most annoying parts in the game. Play any good person and you'll always 2/2 or 3/1. Also most of the infinites were epretty much corner combos.

Gotta agree on Spectral vs Generations looking great but no hints of gameplay style from those pics ?_?

Felt like posting this here since I don't want to look through the Battle Colleseum thread just to know if you've noted and we're gaychatting obscure fighters on this on:

Twinkle Star Sprites on PS2.

So, is anyone surprised? Or not b/c of how SNK & CAP seemingly love to parade old shit as new?

When I was playing 2K1 in the arcades...
An experienced player would maybe play a 2/2 but I remember it was a lot of 1/3. IIRC 1 main 3 striker is the best choice when you have the highest stamina and recovery with the smallest super meter that is way too easy to build. You're given the most combo options in the game with the easiest accessability. 2 main 2 striker is good since you have 2 playable characters but you lose a lot of the offensive opportunities would would have with a 1/3 team.
Its been a while since I played 2K1 but I recall you don't have to do an infinite in the corner with a 1/3 team to kill, crossups and jump-in combos with strikers and super cancels lead to 90 and 100% combos on a 1/3 team, that spelled doom for anything lower than 2/2.

It could be me, but the sound effects sound like they're MvsSF, and she sounds like Sakura.

A shame we never get to see these games (emulated). The 3 on 3 Fantasy one with the Gun-Dwarf looked interesting.

Hardly where do you play anyways?_? I play asians (Koreans, Chinese and filipinos) Korean prefers 2/2, HK prefers 2/2, Japs don't care much they just poke. Koreans do play 1/3 when they want to play with combos though. Note why not 1/3 cause if your on the same level or at least a notch lower/higher it's harder to get combos in =p

Heeeey, it's that picture that's been floating around 4chan for the past couple months. :|

I doubt it's anything more than a clever photoshop, as I've yet to see any other screenshots/information/websites regarding it.

Its so obvious its not real, and I saw it at 4chan for the past year, let alone months.

Also, how come anything fake on the net, is refured to as "Photoshopped"? There ARE other programs out there. =P
