Neil, catch the Big O! It's not really a whole lot like Gunbuster, but it's one of those anime you have to check out, like a Cowboy Bebop or FLCL.
Say, that English dub of GB should be coming out soon... finally!

Might i mention Rahxephon, which is really cool simply becuase of the mech design, but it's drowned in angst it gets kinda old... more of an eva copy than (my personal fave) old school mecha. yeah i <3 <3 <3 Mazinger Z - and oh yes, the big O is like old school mecha and batman spliced...
Nadesico does a great spoof of classic the classic giant mecha with Gekigangar 3, really funny for having only like 1/5086569 of the show's time overall... well it does play into later events... *insert spoilers here*

If you like your whacked out references being musical instead of religious, you'll love RahXephon!
Also, I think the artwork and music is better, but the evil monster designs are worse.

*also just bought the Nadesico DVD box set so there's my opinion on that*

Anything that combines those features in any manner would be most interesting to hear about. Thank you for your time.
If you can find it (always an uncertain proposition with this title), I'd recommend the immortal seven-episode Giant Robo OAV series. Big robots, suparpowers, over-the-topness, and the lovely Ginrei. (http://www.bigfire.com/pictures/Giantrobo/ginrei2.jpg)

The sheer badassity of Berserk volume 26 more than makes up for the rather uninteresting previous two volumes. If they had only killed off Yahiko that little brat it would have been perfect.

Ishidoro? I don't know; I usually despise children being part of the main ensemble in stories like these, but I think he's cool because he isn't annoying (Puck takes that award).
I like his attitude. He's always pissed off. He considers himself the greatest person in the world without coming off as silly. He's got ambition, which leads to great potential whenever he grows up. He isn't totally useless either; especially seeing as he's becoming a dual-wielding mother :O
I'd rather see the witch girl die (forgot her name; I always do), as she's just... yeargh! I know the story is turning into a more fairy-tale inspired form of fantasy, but her scope of power is just ridiculous. They went from 0 to 109201921 during the last two or so volumes :S

Locus is seriously kicking ass in Berserk. He uses a Lance liking a fucking rapier, using it to shish kabob entire rows of human heads at lightning speed. He and his unit are about to fight some Kushan demon king in volume 27. Guts is going to have a very hard time fighting him.
Just seen Blood:The Last Vampire and damn the animation is incredible but its too short. Katsuya Terada draws them big soup cooler lips on his characters :supergrin and Saya was just plain badass, she doesnt hesitate one moment to hack shit up.
Showtime is showing alot of anime this new year. Theyre showing a bunch of Dirty Pair episodes, X, Blood, and Armitage: Dual Matrix.
X had some pretty cool animation but I didnt like it that much for some reason. The fight scenes werent that interesting to me personally and Im not too fond of the big saucer eyed bishonen look.
Dual Matrix is way more exciting than the first Armitage. It even has the voice actor of Jar Jar Binx doing the voice of Mouse the mad scientist. It was so funny hearing that guy cuss with that high pitched voice."IM GOING TO GET THOSE BASTARDS BACK! THEYRE GOING TO REGRET FUCKING WITH ME!"

The main reason I don't like him is because he was like "Hey there, I'm a new character that has absolutely nothing to do with the main plot! Love me!" without even doing anything really interesting. The same goes for Puck, but at least he can be ignored most of the time. At least Farneze had a better reason for getting involved with the Black Swordsman ordeal than "You look strong, I'm gonna tag along". Serpico has to tag along with Farneze, and he's cool because he could hold his own against Guts. Ishidori is just... there.

But she's so cute!
I'm glad the story seems to be getting rid of most of the standard fantasy elements though. One of the things I liked about Berserk was that it was a story taking place in the Dark Ages while not being a fantasy tale with clichéd elements like magic weapons and trolls.
Oh, I have to mention it rocks how volume 26 managed to make Skull Knight even cooler than he already was.

I would normally agree with this, if not for my strong feeling (read: faggotry) that he's going to be something great one day.
The reason he's in the party is because he wants to learn how to fight; and who better to teach him than Gattsu? (Yeah, that's how I spell it :OO)
One day, he's going to be awesome and he's going to face Gattsu one on one. It's sort of a Rock Howard contra Terry Bogard relationship I'm hoping they establish.
I don't think Kentaro would add a character that's completely useless (baring Puck), or at least... I hope not :S

Review has spoiler of the first episode in my opinion.
Kumiko Yamaguchi is a brand new teacher at a High School, one of two new females hired. But do they know what they are getting themselves into as they meet their classes of delinquent students?
Yamaguchi however has a dark secret as she is actually a Yakuza boss (leads a mob/gang) and is very adept with hostile people but she manages to convince all the students that she is just a really lucky but stupid teacher. Will Yamaguchi fullfill her dream job as a teacher or will her past be found out.

Just like the original series, this anime consists of absolutely awful animation throughout most of the episode - that is, until Jubei-chan, herself, appears. Then the drawing style, animation and action become a lot more fluid.
If only for the Jubei fights, I think it's at least worth a d/l.

Today I saw the last four episodes of Hellsing and I'm definitely a fan now. I remember mentioning before how I was still kind of lukewarm on the whole thing - how supposedly 'awesome' sequences were rendered plain by poor art, animation and direction. It was almost like they were saving up for the end.
And they were. The last four episodes were just stormingly good. They were exciting, well directed, nice to look at ... and there were some really great moments.
I thought the entire end story - the fight in and around the Tower of London was just excellent, and the final fight - Alucard vs. Incognito on the rooves of London and then down, under St. Pauls' Cathedral (destroying Tower Bridge along the way) was awesome .
And now I understand why people were pissed at the 'ending' ... but it didn't really bother me. Personally I found the whole 'artificial freaks' plot the least interesting part of the series, and wasn't particularly bothered that it wasn't wrapped up. All I wanted was a showdown between the two supernatural protagonists, and that was what I got - and I consider that a satisfying conclusion in itself.
I suppose I would have liked to seen what happened to Victoria, but it's no big deal.
The Queen should have fought at one point, though. That would have made it even better.

The manga also has a scene where Alucard meets the queen and says something along the lines of "It's been a long time, your majesty" :D
In general, the manga is much more fucked up than the anime. Aside from the varying art-quality and chibi-scenes, there's some differences to the characters. For example, Alucard is just bleeding crazy (much like Anderson) instead of his more mellow, omnipotent anime-persona.
I also think the anime does it better. However, it should be mentioned that young Walter is simply awesome. Unfortunately he's only in one panel :/
VoidStar
7th February 2004, 08:53 PM
Young Walter got a chapter-long sidestory, actually, although I don't know if that's been included in any of the volumes released in Japan as of yet.
I tend to edge towards the manga when it comes to Hellsing; I think the wry sense of humor that the manga has about itself makes it a lot more interesting. The anime did definitely have its moments, but it just seemed dry compared to the manga to me.

There are only two rough spots, really... the original voice cast seems to have been almost totally replaced (although Jubei's new VA is Yui Horie, so that's okay), and Bantaro and Shiro aren't written quite as well as they were before. They're even more manic this time around, but the actual humor in their antics is a little more scarce. :x

It does start out like that, yeah, and there's a certain amount of "magical girlfriend" shit, but I actually thought it was one of the better examples of romance anime I've ever seen. I can't speak for the manga, but I enjoyed the Hell out of the anime. After things get a bit more settled, the series does a good job of developing the relationship between Kei and Mizuho, and ultimately has a more realistic take on how love goes than one might expect from the premise.
In short, it's not as much of a nerdy fantasy-fulfillment thing than one might expect, which really surprised me given the setup. (Although she totally didn't have to be an alien. They could've left that entire subplot out. But whatever.)

Neil, you can find a torrent for Onegai Sensei here (http://www.boxtorrents.com/torrents-details.php?id=57). I personally wasn't terribly impressed by it; if I want sappy romance, I'll go watch Kanon or Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien again. But hey, the charactor art is pretty and there is a truely amazing amount of interesting fappables inspired by it.
Alternately, the manga is only two volumes. You could probably just sit down in your bookstore of choice and read them both.

Just saw Ninja Scroll the series vol.2 which containes episodes 5-8. It's not bad and ties up loose ends in terms of the fates of characters from the previous episodes. My only gripe is that the overarching plot (The Dragon Stone and what it's for) wasn't advanced as much as I'd like. Does anybody know when the last DVD will come out?

I saw AM 27 last night, and I do agree - it was over too quickly. Surely they knew how long the series was going to run for, the idea of them going "oh, we forgot it ends next week" is silly. Unless it was cancelled for whatever reason, and they had to wrap it up all of a sudden - that's always a possibility.
Yeah there were loads of threads left hanging, loads of fights, rematches needed to be had.
That said, I did really like the revelation regarding the reason for hosting the tournament - it was just so FIGHTING GAME. There have been a couple of references during the series, and the end just convinced me all the more that the makers were big fans of the genre.

It's not bad, although it is noticably low budget -- despite her being surrounded by students, only one of them ever moves at any one time, and there are several pans across still images, in lieu of 'action' :S
It's censored, too.

More things:
So I watched the READ OR DIE OAVs, and lubbed them, downloaded the hentai, which was exceedingly poor, and have started downloading the TV series.
But from what I've downloaded so far ... it looks ... weird. Possibly lame, too. I just flicked through the first episode and I don't know what's going on. Is that Yomiko? If so, why the massive redesign? If not, why the hell not? Who are all these other fags, and what happened to the British Library guys?
And what about Nancy-san? :*

I believe the plot of "ROD the TV" is that Yomiko has been kidnapped and three girls with her powers dubbed "The Paper Sisters" are called upon to save her. In an interview with Anime Insider, the author says he was inspired by the "Charlie's Angels" movie.
Which is a shame, if this means losing some of the elements of the OAV's that I liked, like the British people (whom I thought were dubbed well).

Nope, that isn't Yomiko, and the British Library isn't around either. They'll show up eventually, though, don't you worry.
The general plot of the TV series revolves around Nenene, a somewhat short-tempered lady who happens to be an author. The story goes that she hasn't been able to write a new book ever since her friend Yomiko (!!) disappeared years ago, and one day she's saved from an assassination attempt by a deranged fellow novelist by three sisters who can use paper as a weapon. Since she knows Yomiko also had this ability, the whole group eventually gets pretty buddy-buddy and does various saving the world type things together.
It's a really good show, although you have to wait a while for the stuff from the OVA's to show up. Stick with it, you'll be glad you did.

I've been going on and on about this anime in the chats, so I felt like I should just make a post about it.
I watched all 13 episodes of Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito.
The premise of the anime (and the H-game it's based on) is that all of the worlds/alternate dimensions in the universe are kept in a library, and the main characters travel from world to world trying to find the older sister of the main character who disappeared on her 16th birthday.
The main character is a tomboyish sword-wielding school girl named Hatsuki who is completely in love with her older sister Hatsumi. And by in love, I mean IN LOVE. She spends the 1st episode talking about how much she wants to hold Hatsumi and how soft her skin is.
Hatsumi has her own secrets.
Lilith is the caretaker of the library, and is the one with the ability to travel between worlds. I should point out that I'm completely in love with her outfit.
http://www.orbit-soft.com/image/yami_tv/yami_main1.jpg
Hatsumi on the left, Lilith in the middle, Hatsuki on the right.
http://www.orbit-soft.com/image/yami_tv/yami_main2.jpg
http://www.orbit-soft.com/image/yami_tv/lilith.jpg
Just to let you take a better look at the greatness that is Lilith's outfit.
The plot progression is all right and pretty interesting, but it takes a backseat to the consistently exquisite artwork and the hot girls.
It also has the best masturbation scene I've ever seen
It's kind of what you'd expect of an H-game/dating sim anime except that there's no "main guy who gets all the girls." He's been more or less replaced by Hatsuki.

Tenchi Muyp GXP is a surprising good TV series. It takes place within the original Tenchi Muyo storyline (hailing back to 1994!) and thrusts some poor schmuck into the galaxy police. Compared to the already incredible TM OAVs, the jump in animation quality is amazing. So far, the series seems to be like a college comedy movie... in space!
FUNimation actually got well-known anime voice-actors to do this one, the main character shares the same voice as TV's Lupin III! Other characters share voices with Faye Valentine and Kamiya Kaoru (from Rurouni Kenshin).

Are there any other Katsu Aki fans?
I recently started read his most popular stories, Futrai Ecchi and Psychic Acedemy.
The later is about some people that are blessed with magic skills and their quest to get better at using them. Stuffed with tons of cute/hot scenes...
but that's nothing compared to Futar Ecchi, which could also be labeled "the manga guide to sex".
It's about two 25 year old virgins that start discovering sex after their arranged marriage. The main character, Makoto, is the worst lover I've ever read about (comes too soon 9/10 times, is constantly nervous etc.) while Yura is a little stereotypish but very cute.

See, that's one of the problems right there. They DIDN'T give her the Brooklyn accent which would have been GREAT for the role. Instead, they defaulted to the Osaka accent = Southerner that occurs in most anime dubs and sucks.
Kagura hasn't yet appeared.
Tomo's voice is terrible for reasons not having to do with Japanese words. The problem is that nearly everyone sounds like they're feigning California accents. The only good voices are Chiyo and Sakaki. Those were done anywhere from decent to good.
It's not an outright terrible dub, but I'd say it's below average. Then again, the original Azumanga voice cast is one of the best I've ever heard and it's REALLY hard to live up to that.
I can appreciate a good dub, like Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Disgaea, and Pokemon, and tolerate some mediocre ones like Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Osaka has a faint southern accent. It's lighter (and better) than that shit that ROgue uses on X-Men: Evolution, thankfully. Also, the tsukkomi thing has been changed to "Why the heck!" as opposed to Fugheddaboudit.
Fugheddaboudit would've been nice, but I don't mind. My only real problem with the dub is "Chiyo-chan." Leave the honorifics in Japan, plzkthx. Chiyo also sounds like a character from a kiddie show... which makes sense because she's only ten. Yukari is perfect, though. And Sakaki has an unbearably cute "eep" :S
Seems like the manga will be more palatable to US audiences while the anime will go the straight Japanese route, most likely with ADVId-Notes, ala Excel Saga. Either way works for me.

The American market is all about "authenticity" these days, though, and that market is growing year after year, bigger and bigger gatherings of people talking over the Internet, going to conventions, etc. "The fans" had enough power to get ADV to alter their DVD plan for Eva, it's scary, really.
I guess what I'm saying is that our particular segment of anime fandom seems not to mind, and in many cases encourages, peppering English translations with Japanese terminology, to the point where most manga leave the sound effects untouched and don't bother with a glossary. I swear, in a couple of years someone will release a manga completly unretouched or translated, call a "Special Otaku Edition", sell it for $5.99, and become a millionaire.
That reminds me, I need to steel myself for SakuraCon (http://www.sakuracon.org). Not that I don't want to go (the ADV panel is always good), but there are some things about anime con attendees that can rub you the wrong way. :dead

For me there's still some measure of resistance. Hearing the squeaky-voiced gibberish speakers coming out with -chan etc is par for the course, but it still strikes me as somewhat odd and unconvincing hearing it from a 'western' mouth.
I suppose the reverse equivalent would be D'Arby in part 3 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure .. what with his "Miiistahh Joestaahhh" antics. Just as odd-sounding, although much more humourous. :D

Also... lol they used a dead branch. =3 The main character is a swordsman named Roan and an Acolyte girl named Yuufa. I like the way that baphomet looked (from the intro video), maybe it could be a nice anime to watch for those people who played/play ragnarok. I might download the other episodes maybe, if I feel like it. I wasn't too amazed by it.

Ragnarok is your standard liscensed by-the-book anime. Worth watching only if you're a big fan of the game or just don't have anything else to watch.
mechazawa - what's up with Turn A Gundam? I've only seen the first 3 episodes of it, and it doesn't seem that bad. From what I've heard, I can't be worse than G or Victory. I know I shouldn't expect Seed or Zeta quality, but where does it rank compaired to other Gundam series?

I didn't mean it was bad. I loved it in fact. I mean how can I not like it when it's a homage to almost every Gundam series that came before it. It's just that 3 out of 4 of the people who I told to watch it were turned off by it for some reason. As far as where it ranks in my opinion:
1- Zeta
2- 08th MS Team
3- 0083
4- Char's Counterattack
5- Turn A
6- SEED/0079
7- 0080
8- ZZ
9- G
10- Wing
Haven't seen X, V, or F91 yet so can't rank them. As far as Scryed goes I liked it as a whole, but the final villain was a bit disappointing. Has anyone seen Gun Parade March? I started watching it, but then discovered Full Metal Panic and never got around to finishing it.

You're the first person I've ever seen put Wing below G. I've watched 7 episodes of V, and can't bring myself to continue. X is one of my more liked Gundam series, if only because I'm a huge fan of anything post-apocalypse. X was robbed of alot since they cut out 10 or so episodes from the run time.
And at which point on that list would you put the below here is bad line?
mechazawa
18th April 2004, 01:25 AM
I don't think any of the one's I've seen have been bad. They all have good things about them. Personally I don't thing Wing is bad. I respect it because had Wing not been so damned popular, things like Zeta and the 08th MS team never would have made the trip over. I really don't know why I like G better than Wing though.
You might want to give V another try if you get the chance. From what I've heard it becomes very much like Zeta towards the end. I didn't even like SEED until they got to Earth. I'd say that below number 6 are the one's you shouldn't buy, but are atleast worth a watch. I'll probably start watching X once I finish catching up on Full Metal Alchemist.

I know this is sacrilege... but UC Gundam outside of the original whiny Amuro series really doesn't do it for me....
It's... boring! God... I really don't understand why Zeta became so popular. Even CCA,.the pinnacle of UC bored me to tears in parts.... it's just all so predictable... and the point of souls bound by gravity gets belabored to DEATH! Anybody who says that Z Gundam is a realistic conveyance of war or has deep thematic resonance is obviously trying too hard to convince themselves that Zeta is good. I mean Char (or Quattro Vagina)'s speech in Dakar is flat out LOL simply - not only because of the setup - but because the speech itself is just flat out ridiculous!
I mean the concept is interesting, but Char changes from being a pretty cool character in MSG to a broken record.... christ- if only he didn't pilot such cool mecha....
Honestly, the last enjoyable Gundam series I watched was G Gundam - and that's because G Gundam is essentially a fighting anime.
I haven't watched Seed, but from what I read it was essentially One Year War with Zero Systems - and without the uber cool retro mecha.
In short, I'm firmly a believer of Gundam being awesome - by virtue of resin kits and retro robots.
mechazawa
18th April 2004, 10:30 AM

I thought Seed was rather hit or miss myself. There were definite echos of pretty much every single other Gundam series running through the whole thing and it feels like they were straining to find something new to do. The flashbacks and recycled footage start becoming physically painful about halfway through. I liked the mecha designs in general, and some of the charactors that showed up. And of course, you get some of the hottest Gundam women ever.
As for Gun Parade March: I watched Full Metal Panic before I ever watched GPM. GPM doesn't do anything better than FMP. Strictly average in my book, watchable but not something that you should go out of your way to find.

They also ran the first 5 eps of AzuDai dubbed. I gotta say, it was odd not hearing a Brooklyn accent from Osaka at first, but it turned out really good. (I asked ADV at their panel about it, they say their VA just did Southern better, and it really fits Osaka's personality.) Hilarious show.
I also asked about Lupin III and FLCL. They say that, if we keeping it, they'll keep making it. In Lupin's case, the DVDs of the TV series, in FLCL's case, domestic versions of Pillow CDs. Also! If you're still having trouble with Shin Getter Robo, get this. Oy.
ol. [ASS] indeed.
It's funny how people don't like it because of the similarities to Shin Getter vs. Neo Getter, because I hated that, and yet...I enjoyed this immensely. Not as much as, say, the first episode of Getter Robo: Armageddon (not that anything'll top that for me :D), but Ryoma beating the shit out of people and yelling at Mexicans was surprisingly entertaining to me.

The first episode of the latest Tetsujin series is available on bittorrent.
I had heard the previous two remakes were incredibly mediocre, and I wondered if this show would suffer the same fate. I had heard that there would be a big differencebetween this remake and the previous ones, though.
Where the two previous remakes took Tetsujin and put him in that time frame (80's and 90's), this series harkens back to the original. I have nothing to compare it to, but having seen the episode, I think this was a good idea. In addition, the drawing style mimics the old series but with more fluidity. While some may shun that old fashioned look in modern anime, I think it is wholly appropriate, as the show takes place in the 50's/60's, and the style really gives it that feel.
Another big thing is that the director is planning on making this series have an ongoing plot, unlike the more episodic nature of the original series. I think if they manage to pull it off it'll be great, as an ongoing plot is most likely what the series needs to jump the gap of 50 or so years.
Overall, I think it was good. Plus it has the old theme song!

I think the thing which really reminded me of Neo Vs. Shin was the opening sequence. The bits when Ryou and Hayato are in a crowd to turn back to face the 'Oni'- way too reminscent of Neo getter opening (which I liked btw).
In all honesty though, the reason people feel it might be like Neo VS. Shin is the pacing. How many episodes is this? One gets the feeling that they'll do an ep on each main character and have one final showdown episode then DA END - ie. Neo Vs Shin.
I feel Neo gets a bit over maligned though. I actually think Plasma Thunder or whatever it's called is an incredibly cool move! That TEXAS MACK AND JACK MACK'S FUCKING CRAZY KICKASS ENGLISH.

As much as I'm loving the imminent arrival of Gunbuster 2, I don't think any of those girls have anything that would even produce a Gainax BounceTM.

That's it, Bobobo is no longer worth my time and hard disk space. It's like they used up all their jokes on episode 2.
Check out episode 4. Don Pachi is back, and along with him comes the episode 2 quality funny. It's weird, because Don Pachi on his own doesn't seem like that funny a character, but he has this interesting quality of always bringing out the best/craziest/funniest side of Bobobo. Whenever those two are together in the show, it's like a non-stop comedy fireworks display. :supergrin

I posted that after seeing episode 4 actually. Granted it wasn't as big of a stinker as 3, but too full of "am I supposed to laugh now?" moments that it doesn't give me much hope for the rest of the series.
Nothing, I mean nothing can compare to "I AM OFFICE LAAAAAAAAAAAAADY."

Man, I feel about opposite. I agree that episode 3 was the worst of the bunch so far, and that episode 2 was the best. But in general, I was laughing a good amount throughout all of them. And I'm a tough customer to please in terms of anime comedy, who usually doesn't go for wacky-type shows. Bobobo is the one exception though, that really threw me for a loop as one of the absolute funniest shows I've ever seen in my life.

My friend was telling me the other day about Full Metal Alchemist. If anyone has seen it what are your thoughts or opinions on it. Is it worth my time to download it or should I search for something else.

Full Metal Alchemist is one of the best shows that has come out in recent memory for me. The action is smoothly animated and original, plotline is about as original as it comes and the dramatic parts really hit hard.
The only problem is that it was just licensed by Funimation. ANBU-AOne have stopped subbing, and I'm not sure who's still going on with the series.
Supposedly, Square is going to be helping with the translation because of their FMA games, but still. It's fucking Funimation >:|

I picked up Azumanga Daioh over the downtime, hoping that it would reach the heights of awesomeness present in the manga, but part of me knew I would be disappointed in some way, considering all the drooling fanboy faggots this series has.
Bear in mind I've only seen the first half of the disc (come to think of it I don't know if I've seen the whole thing :O). I'm also the resident X-Pac fan and rock out to 80s metal, so take all this for whatever you will.
The humor doesn't translate well at all to the screen. The dub cast is shit. Chiyo-chan is really, really, really fucking annoying. So annoying I can't believe I just used an honorific. Oh god shoot me.
Of course, the fanboy faggot side of me said "GET THE ARTBOX!!!" and I did, but at least I'll get a few bucks more on eBay.
Detective Conan/Case Closed is okay, I'm not too impressed with it but it somewhat manages to keep my attention.

So I got the first volume of Texhnolyze - Inhumane and Beautiful. Now, this is an anime from just last year. However, I've never, ever heard of it, which is odd, considering it's very high budget and the fact that I scoured the anime torrent groups throughout all of last year.
I got it on an impulsive whim, because it was described as cyberpunk (which it is). I love cyberpunk, but the genre isn't getting enough support, so I was shocked when I saw a high-budget anime like this.
Anyway, it's about a city called Lukuss, situated below the earth. The main character, Ichise, is a prize-fighter who sucker-punches his boss while having sex with her. She hires the Organa crime organization to punish him and he loses a leg and an arm.
While wandering around the city, bleeding to death, some rich scientist chick takes him in for unknown reasons and provides him with Texhnolyzed limbs; which are essentially robotic, but infused with the "essence of humanity" or something.
The art is fucking amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful anime. Lukuss is an incredibly detailed, dark and rusty "technological hell" and the entire cityscape just looks like a painting. The animation is equally good, though not as consistent. Voice-acting is good, music is good, etc.
So far, it's a great series, even if it is a bit slow moving. If you love cyberpunk, it's definitely worth checking out.
