Higher Voltage Character Battle: Fagmort of the Millennium (Results, Round One) |
Results: ROUND ONE
Week Six: Sunday 15th of December - Saturday 22nd December
Day Thirty-Five

Alex (Streetfighter 3): 76 (54%)
Tina Armstrong (Dead or Alive): 65 (46%)
Winner: Alex
Neil: Another close loss for one of my precious Dead or Alive girls … however to be honest, I’m still glad Alex won. He’s just so dreamy, so tough and resourceful (?)
Punchinello : At ease, LOSER! ROFLMAOBOL
ObiJay: Tits lose to substance again? A shocker. Still, Alex is so beyond kick ass it’s not even funny.
Day Thirty-Six

Votes: 162
Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury): 148 (91%)
Cody (Streetfighter Alpha 3): 14 (9%)
Winner: Terry Bogard
Neil: Well, shit.
Punchinello : That’s Terry for you. He’s from the Tung Fu Rue school of hard knocks.
ObiJay: Damn, Cody did better than I thought he would.
Day Thirty-Seven

Batsu (Rival Schools): 57 (37%)
Yuri Sakazaki (King of Fighters): 99 (63%)
Winner: Yuri Sakazaki
Neil: Yuri’s well-documented love of facial glazings propels her to an easy victory
Punchinello : I suggest all our readers pick up the latest issue of “Yuri and Friends” at their local Bukkake Shop for plenty of wholesome family fun.
ObiJay: Well, at least Yuri is usually the one without a cock :S
Day Thirty-Eight

Votes: 166
Baiken (Guilty Gear): 69 (42%)
Haohmaru (Samurai Shodown): 97 (58%)
Winner : Haohmaru
Punchinello : That Baiken is still the hottest amputee out there. Show me some stump, baby girl!
ObiJay: Agreed, Baiken is pretty hot for a one armed chick, but hell, you can’t top the comedy gold of a R4 Haohmaru fierce slashing an R1. Comedy fucking gold.
Day Thirty-Nine

Votes: 148
Ryu (Streetfighter): 127 (86%)
Akira (Virtua Fighter): 21 (14%)
Winner: Ryu
Neil: Akira’s a powerful player, but in terms of character he’s a black hole with a headband. Ryu might not be Mr. Personality, but his various interactions with other, better characters, plus the various plots and conflicts he finds himself central to over the years impart him with at least a small measure of loveability
Punchinello : Ryu may be a little underwhelming and bland compared to other characters, but he’s still the first man of fighters.
ObiJay: Ryu just has instant recognizibility. Sure, it’s a simple design, but it’s fitting for the no nonesense wandering warrior/philosopher. Yet when most people I know saw Akira, I heard “Hey! He looks like Ryu!”
Day Forty

Votes: 139
Andy Bogard (Fatal Fury): 57 (41%)
Guy (Streetfighter Alpha): 82 (59%)
Winner: Guy
Punchinello : No loss for Andy. He gets to serve himself Shiranui pie while Guy gets to work in the gym with Cody :x
Neil: She’s my friend too! Count me in!
ObiJay: You know, neither of these guys make very good ninjas. I mean, how well do you sneak around in bright orange and sneakers, or a fucking snow white outfit?
Day Forty One

Votes: 128
Yoshimitsu (Tekken, SoulCalibur): 51 (40%)
Ryu Hayabusa (Dead Or Alive): 77 (60%)
Winner: Ryu Hayabusa
Neil: Unbelievably, Ryu takes this round. I noticed a lot of folks on the forums talking about their love for the “Ninja Gaiden” games of old - maybe that was a deciding factor? That or Punch left his mouse button glued down overnight. Still, I’m sure Yoshimitsu won’t take the loss too badly. I mean, what’s he going to do? Stab himself?
Punchinello : AH! I’m engorged with power! This victory will simply lessen the pain of when he eventually does lose. Though I firmly believe his victory stems from that man muffins appeal… I mean, just look at him!
ObiJay: Dammit Punchi must have rigged this. Oh well, Yoshi can get back to his space ninja robin hoodesque antics.
The results of this poll were tallied by Godzilla and his saturday morning cartel of super-friends.
